Fire started with him?

A Lincoln man is now facing misdemeanor charges of unlawfully starting a fire after his alleged heist led to a police chase and large grass blaze in north Roseville Wednesday.

Patrick John Henry, 40, was being held on $155,000 bail in the Placer County Jail. He also faces charges of evading police, grand theft, obstructing an officer and violating parole.

Cops say that at around 12:13 p.m., police responded to an alarm near a construction site on Secret Ravine Parkway. That’s when they spotted Frank leaving in a 1995 Saturn sedan, with stolen property visible in the trunk.

Police pursued him into open space northwest of Blue Oaks Boulevard and Fiddyment Road, and eventually took him into custody.

Authorities say they believe the chase likely led to the wind-fed grassfire that threatened homes off of Diamond Woods Drive and businesses off Duluth Avenue for part of the afternoon Wednesday.

The nearly 100-acre fire was fully contained by 2:30 p.m.; no injuries were reported and no structures burned.

Power was knocked out for about an hour to more than 4,000 Roseville Electric customers, including the Galleria mall and Fountains retail center.

On parole shocking! But I am still unsure how the chase led to the fire. Can you do some actual reporting this doesn't say much?
