District seeking parental input
Reader Input
This is in response to the letter to the editor last Wednesday (Jan. 25) from Jenna Barnes regarding the reorganization of some of the schools within the Roseville City School District. The recommendations being talked about are from our staff, who have done extensive research on what is happening at various schools. Though the district as a whole is increasing in its enrollment, some individual schools are decreasing in their enrollment. That is the reason why these recommendations are being brought to the public. No decisions have been made. The very reason why the district is holding these various community meetings is to get input from parents and the community in order to incorporate as much as possible those concerns into whatever decision is made. Our Superintendent, Rich Pierucci, doesn’t have exact numbers because it would be very difficult to give those numbers. We have no concrete idea how many families will move in or out of the district between now and 2013 when this reorganization would take place. We can only guess based on current and previous years. The staff and board will be considering any and all options presented to us. Again that is exactly why we are having these community meetings. Gary Miller, president, Roseville City School Board
