School funds not used wisely

Re: “Money to support English learners goes unspent” (Press Tribune, Jan. 11). If this weren’t so pitiful, it would be funny — the governor is asking for higher taxes on behalf of schools (again). Yet, here we have more proof that the schools don’t use the monies they currently get for the programs for which said monies are intended. The real kicker is at the end of the article, where it states that the schools will hire a consultant (don’t they always spend huge amounts of money on needless, redundant studies and consultants already?) to better advise them on how to spend these monies that were already allocated for a specific purpose.
